Privacy Policy

The short version
We identify movies from an image or a description and tell you where to watch them. We are built privacy-first: we do not store the images you upload.
What we process
- Images you submit are sent to our AI provider only to identify the film, then discarded. They are not persisted on our servers. We may keep a one-way content hash (not the image) to de-duplicate corrections.
- Text descriptions you type are processed to identify the film and may be retained in aggregate to improve accuracy.
- Corrections you submit (“the right movie is…”) are stored to improve identification — the labeled data that makes WoReel better over time.
- Your watchlist is tied to a random device identifier in your browser’s local storage — not to your name or email. Clearing your browser storage detaches it.
- Basic technical data (IP, used briefly for rate-limiting, and standard request logs).
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not store your uploaded images.
- We do not require an account to use the core feature.
Third parties
- AI model provider (via the Vercel AI Gateway) — receives your image/description to perform identification.
- TMDB — movie metadata and posters. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- JustWatch — streaming availability data.
- Hosting — Vercel.
Your rights
Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR/EEA, CCPA/California), you may request access to or deletion of your data. Because watchlists are anonymous and images aren’t stored, there is little personal data to act on — but contact us and we’ll help.
